SJL is passionate about thoughtful design and the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion.

Jake Lai founded the studio in 2021. Originally from New Zealand and with two decades of experience, his diverse portfolio spans bespoke high-end residential projects, luxury hotels, private members’ clubs, and the sensitive restoration of heritage projects. Jake brings a global sensibility to his work, shaped by time spent in prestigious design-led studios in Wellington, Melbourne, and London.
